Joan Pykett Award Application

The Joan Pykett Outstanding Medical Services Professional Award was established in honor of Joan, a founding member and former president of WAMSS, to recognize the outstanding achievements of a WAMSS member in their workplace, in promoting the enhancement of knowledge and skills of our profession, and through advocating quality healthcare and patient safety – the Mission of WAMSS.

This award may be awarded annually at the annual meeting of the Wisconsin Association Medical Staff Services. Nominations must be submitted to the WAMSS President by June 30 of each year. The Board of Directors will consider all properly submitted nominations in accordance with the below listed criteria.

Eligibility and Criteria for Nomination:

  • Nominee must be an Active Member of WAMSS.

  • Nominee demonstrates support for the activities and role of the medical services professional.

  • Nominee demonstrates support of the work of the Wisconsin Association Medical Staff

  • Services in promoting the enhancement of knowledge and skills of our profession.

  • Nominee exhibits qualities of leadership and advocates quality healthcare and patient safety in healthcare organizations.

  • Current WAMSS Board Members are excluded from nominations.
